3-303. APPLICATION FOR LICENSE.

AN APPLICANT FOR A LICENSE SHALL:

(1)  SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE BOARD ON THE FORM
THAT THE BOARD PROVIDES; AND

(2)  PAY TO THE BOARD AN APPLICATION FEE OF:

(I)  $20 FOR A MASTER PLUMBER LICENSE;

(II)  $10 FOR A JOURNEY PLUMBER LICENSE; OR

(III)  $5 FOR AN APPRENTICE PLUMBER LICENSE.

COMMITTEE COMMENT: Item (1) of this section is standard
language added to state expressly that which only was
implied in the former law — i.e., application may be
made only on the form provided by the Board.

Item (2) of this section is new language derived from
the fourteenth sentence of former Art. 56, § 449(a)
and, as it related to an initial fee, the second
sentence of § 453(b).

In item (2) of this section, the reference to an
"application fee" is substituted for the former
references to an "examination fee" and a "charge
for the issuing of the first permit ... to
apprentices". The fee is paid, in fact, on
application for both the application and examination
process.

Former Art. 56, § 449(b), which required a nonresident
applicant to pay the appropriate fees imposed by the
state where the applicant is incorporated or has
offices, is deleted to conform to current practice
that requires all applicants pay to the Board the same
fees.
