SPECIES FUND WAS ESTABLISHED AND THE PURPOSES FOR WHICH THE FUND
MAY BE USED.
(C) (B) THE COMPTROLLER SHALL:
(1) COLLECT THE CHECKOFF CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACCOUNT TO
THE STATE TREASURER FOR THE MONEY COLLECTED;
(2) FROM THE CONTRIBUTIONS COLLECTED, DISTRIBUTE THE
AMOUNT NECESSARY TO ADMINISTER THE CHECKOFF SYSTEM TO AN
ADMINISTRATIVE COST ACCOUNT; AND
(3) AFTER THE DISTRIBUTION UNDER ITEM (2) OF THIS
SUBSECTION, DISTRIBUTE THE REMAINDER OF THE MONEY COLLECTED UNDER
THIS SUBSECTION TO THE CHESAPEAKE BAY AND ENDANGERED SPECIES FUND
ESTABLISHED UNDER § 1-702 OF THE NATURAL RESOURCES ARTICLE.

(F) AN INDIVIDUAL MAY DESIGNATE A CONTRIBUTION TO THE STATE
CHESAPEAKE BAY AND ENDANGERED SPECIES FUND, ESTABLISHED UNDER §§
1-701 THROUGH 1-706 OF THE NATURAL RESOURCES ARTICLE, BY THE
CHECKOFF SYSTEM ON THE RETURN.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, If, in any tax year,
the net proceeds contributed to the Fund do not exceed an amount
equal to $200,000, the Fund shall not be included under the
income tax checkoff system in subsequent years and, with no
further action required by the General Assembly, this Act shall
be abrogated and of no further force and effect.
SECTION 2 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect January 1, 1989 and shall be applicable to all
taxable years beginning after December 31, 1987. It shall remain
effective for a period of three and one half years and, at the
end of July 1, 1992, and with no further action required by the
General Assembly, this Act shall be abrogated and of no further
force and effect.
