recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee on the
Business Occupations Article, to increase the fine to
an amount not exceeding $5,000 in conformity with
changes made throughout this section to provide a
uniform set of penalties for all violations.

Subsection (a)(13) of this section is new language
derived without substantive change from former Art.
56, § 230B(b).

Subsection (a)(14) of this section is new language
substituted, on the recommendation of the Joint
Subcommittee on the Business Occupations Article, for
former Art. 56, § 217A(g). The new language clarifies
that a person who violates any provision of § 4-610
["Filing false statement"] of this subtitle is guilty
of a misdemeanor, increases the fine to an amount not
exceeding $5,000, and provides that, on conviction, a
person is also subject to imprisonment not exceeding 1
year or both a fine and imprisonment. These
provisions conform to changes made throughout this
section to provide a uniform set of penalties for all
violations.

Subsection (a)(15) of this section is new language
derived in part without substantive change from former
Art. 56, § 230C(f). New language is added, on the
recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee on the
Business Occupations Article, to increase the fine to
$5,000 in conformity with changes made throughout this
section to provide a uniform set of penalties.

Subsection (b) of this section is new language added,
on the recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee on the
Business Occupations Article, to provide a penalty for
a violation of § 4-612 ["Violations by corporation,
partnership, or other association"] by a corporation,
partnership, or any other associations.

In subsection (a)(5) through   (7) of this section,   the

former, specific reference in  Art. 56, § 231 to     the

date after which a person is   subject to penalties   for

certain violations is deleted  as obsolete.
