(B)  RETAINING UNLICENSED INDIVIDUAL.

A REAL ESTATE BROKER MAY NOT RETAIN AN UNLICENSED INDIVIDUAL
TO PROVIDE REAL ESTATE BROKERAGE SERVICES ON BEHALF OF THE REAL
ESTATE BROKER.

(C)  LENDING LICENSE OF REAL ESTATE BROKER.

A LICENSED REAL ESTATE BROKER MAY NOT LEND THE LICENSE
CERTIFICATE OR POCKET CARD OF THE BROKER TO ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL.

SUBCOMMITTEE COMMENT: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first sentence of
former Art. 56, § 224B and § 231, as it related to
retaining the services of an unlicensed salesman.

In subsection (a) of this section, the reference to an
"associate real estate broker" is added in conformity
with provisions added throughout this title to provide
a licensing scheme for associate real estate brokers.

4-604. PAYING COMPENSATION.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION, A REAL
ESTATE BROKER, AN ASSOCIATE REAL ESTATE BROKER, OR A REAL ESTATE
SALESPERSON MAY NOT PAY COMPENSATION, IN ANY FORM, FOR THE
PROVISION OF REAL ESTATE BROKERAGE SERVICES TO ANY PERSON WHO IS
NOT LICENSED UNDER THIS TITLE.

(B)  EXCEPTIONS.

THIS SECTION DOES NOT PROHIBIT THE PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION

TO:

(1) AN INDIVIDUAL:

(I)  WHO IS LICENSED IN ANOTHER STATE; AND

(II)  WHO MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF § 4-513 OF

THIS TITLE; OR
