former defined term "dwelling" without the necessity
of being defined.
Former Art. 56, § 230D(c)(2), which defined "person",
is deleted as unnecessary in light of the defined term
"person".
Former Art. 56, § 230D(c)(4), which defined "steering"
by referring to the provisions of former Art. 56, §
230D(d), (e), and (f), is deleted as unnecessary in
light of the specific language in subsection (d) of
this section that enumerates the acts that constitute
steering.

4-525. DISCRIMINATORY REAL ESTATE PRACTICES IN MONTGOMERY
COUNTY.
(A) LEGISLATIVE POLICY.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS SECTION IS TO PROHIBIT CERTAIN
DISCRIMINATORY REAL ESTATE PRACTICES WITH RESPECT TO HOUSING IN
MONTGOMERY COUNTY TO:
(1) ENSURE FAIR AND EQUAL REAL ESTATE HOUSING
PRACTICES IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY FOR ALL OF ITS RESIDENTS,
REGARDLESS OF RACE, COLOR, RELIGION, SEX, MARITAL STATUS,
NATIONAL ORIGIN, OR, AS DEFINED IN ARTICLE 49B, § 19 OF THE CODE,
PHYSICAL OR MENTAL HANDICAP;
(2) PROVIDE FAIR AND EQUAL REAL ESTATE HOUSING
OPPORTUNITIES IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY FOR ALL OF ITS RESIDENTS,
REGARDLESS OF RACE, COLOR, RELIGION, SEX, MARITAL STATUS,
NATIONAL ORIGIN, OR, AS DEFINED IN ARTICLE 49B, § 19 OF THE CODE,
PHYSICAL OR MENTAL HANDICAP; AND
(3) ENSURE FAIR AND EQUAL REAL ESTATE HOUSING
PRACTICES AND PROVIDE FAIR AND EQUAL REAL ESTATE HOUSING
OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE AT LEAST 62 YEARS OF
AGE; AND
(3) (4) PROTECT AND ENSURE THE PEACE, HEALTH, SAFETY,
PROSPERITY, AND GENERAL WELFARE OF ALL RESIDENTS OF MONTGOMERY
COUNTY.
(B) SCOPE OF SECTION.
