SUBCOMMITTEE COMMENT: Subsection (a) of this section is new

language of that section. The fee is raised to $25,
to cover increases in the cost of collection. In
addition, this item has been revised, on the
recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee on the
Business Occupations Article, to establish a uniform
fee for tendering a dishonored check for residents and
nonresidents in conformity with changes in the fee
structure made throughout this title. See the General
Subcommittee Comment to this title.
Subsection (b) of this section is new language added
to clarify that the original fee is not considered
paid until the additional fee is paid.
In subsection (a) of this section, the phrase "for
each dishonored check" is added to clarify that each
instance of a dishonored check required an additional
fee.
