WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 563
require that the license renewal application of the
branch office manager accompany the branch office
certificate renewal application. This conforms to the
current practice of the Commission.
Subsection (e)(2)(ii) of this section is new language
derived in part without substantive change from former
Art. 56, § 223(e) and the introductory language of
that section. In addition, this item has been
revised, on the recommendation of the Joint
Subcommittee on the Business Occupations Article, to
establish a uniform renewal fee for residents and
nonresidents in conformity with changes in the fee
structure made throughout this title. See the General
Subcommittee Comment to this title.
Subsection (e)(3) of this section is new language
added to state expressly that which only was implied
in the former law — i.e., the Commission shall renew
the branch office certificate of a licensed real
estate broker who meets the requirements of this
section.
In this section, the term "branch office certificate"
is substituted for the former term "duplicate license"
to distinguish between a license, which is granted to
an individual and authorizes the individual to provide
real estate brokerage services, and that which is
granted under this section, which authorizes a
licensed real estate broker to maintain a branch
office.
In subsection (c)(1)(ii) of this section, the phrase
"submit written notice" is substituted for the former
word "filed", for clarity.
In subsection (d)(1) of this section, new language is
added to state expressly that which only was implied
in the former law — i.e., a real estate broker is
required to designate a manager for each branch office
of the broker.
