WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 563
SALESPERSON ON REACTIVATION OF THE LICENSE OF THE ASSOCIATE
BROKER OR SALESPERSON.
SUBCOMMITTEE COMMENT: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language derived in part without substantive change

New language has been added to clarify the
circumstances under which the Commission shall place a
license on inactive status.
Subsection (b)(1) of this section is new language
derived without substantive change from the fourth
sentence of former Art. 56, § 217(e).
Subsection (b)(2) of this section is new language
added to state expressly what was only implied in the
former law — i.e., that placement of a license on
inactive status has no effect on the power of the
Commission to take disciplinary action against the
licensee.
Subsection (c) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from the third sentence of
former Art. 56, § 217(e).
Subsection (d) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second sentence of
former Art. 56, § 217(e) and the first sentence of
(f)(l)(iii).
Subsection (e) of this section is new language derived
in part without substantive change from the fifth
sentence of former Art. 56, § 217(e), the second
sentence of (f)(1)(iii) and § 223(i) and the
introductory language of that section. This
subsection is revised, on the recommendation of the
Joint Subcommittee on the Business Occupations
Article, to establish a uniform reactivation fee for
resident and nonresident licensees in conformity with
changes in the fee structure made throughout this
title. See the General Subcommittee Comment to this
title.
In this section, the references to an "associate real
estate broker" are added in conformity with provisions
added throughout this title to provide a licensing
scheme for associate real estate brokers. See the
General Subcommittee Comment to this title.
In subsection (a) of this section, new language is
added to state expressly that which was only implied
in the former law — i.e., that the Commission shall
place the license of an associate real estate broker
