respectively, for consistency with the renewal fees
for those licenses, and to increase the application
fee for an associate real estate broker license to $50
to establish an application fee that is commensurate
with the intermediate status of an associate real
estate broker license. In addition, on the
recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee, item (5) of
this subsection establishes uniform application fees
for resident and nonresident applicants, in conformity
with changes in the fee structures made throughout
this title. See the General Subcommittee Comment to
this title.
Subsection (g)(6) of this section is new language
derived without substantive change from former Art.
56, § 220.
Subsection (h) of this section is new language derived
in part without substantive change from the first
sentence of former Art. 56, § 221(a), as it required
the Commission to issue an appropriate license to a
qualified individual. New language is added to state
expressly that the Commission must cancel the current
license of a licensee who is exchanging that license
for another license. This addition conforms to the
current practice of the Commission.
Subsection (i) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 56, §
221(c), as it required the Commission to issue a
license certificate and pocket card to each licensee.
In this section, express references to an "associate
real estate broker" are included in conformity with
provisions added throughout this title to provide a
licensing scheme for associate real estate brokers.
