Subsection (c)(2) of this section is new language
added to state expressly that which only was implied
by the reference, in the third sentence of former Art.
56, § 222(b), to "the licensed real estate broker
named in" the certificate of a salesperson. In
addition, new language is added to expressly require
the Commission to include the name of the firm of the
broker for whom an applicant will be authorized to
provide real estate brokerage services on each real
estate salesperson license certificate and pocket card
and each associate real estate broker license
certificate and pocket card that the Commission
issues. The reference to an "associate real estate
broker license certificate and pocket card" is added
in conformity with provisions added throughout this
title to provide a licensing scheme for associate real
estate brokers. See the General Subcommittee Comment
to this title.

4-310. SCOPE OF LICENSE.

(A)  REAL ESTATE BROKER LICENSE.

WHILE IT IS EFFECTIVE IN EFFECT, A REAL ESTATE BROKER
LICENSE AUTHORIZES THE LICENSEE TO PROVIDE REAL ESTATE BROKERAGE
SERVICES.

(B)  ASSOCIATE REAL ESTATE BROKER AND REAL ESTATE
SALESPERSON LICENSE.

(1)  WHILE IT IS EFFECTIVE IN EFFECT, AN ASSOCIATE
REAL ESTATE BROKER OR REAL ESTATE SALESPERSON LICENSE AUTHORIZES
THE LICENSEE TO PROVIDE REAL ESTATE BROKERAGE SERVICES ON BEHALF
OF A LICENSED REAL ESTATE BROKER:

(I)  WHO IS NAMED IN THE LICENSE CERTIFICATE OF
THE ASSOCIATE REAL ESTATE BROKER OR REAL ESTATE SALESPERSON; AND

(II)  WITH WHOM THE ASSOCIATE REAL ESTATE BROKER
OR REAL ESTATE SALESPERSON IS AFFILIATED.

(2)  AN ASSOCIATE REAL ESTATE BROKER OR REAL ESTATE
SALESPERSON LICENSE DOES NOT AUTHORIZE THE LICENSEE TO PROVIDE
REAL ESTATE BROKERAGE SERVICES ON THE LICENSEE'S OWN BEHALF OR ON
BEHALF OF ANY PERSON OTHER THAN A LICENSED REAL ESTATE BROKER
NAMED IN THE LICENSE CERTIFICATE OF THE ASSOCIATE REAL ESTATE
BROKER OR REAL ESTATE SALESPERSON.
