WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 534

(IV)  1 WHO SHALL REPRESENT THE WHOLESALE AND
RETAIL SEAFOOD INDUSTRY;

(V)  1 WHO SHALL REPRESENT THE AGRICULTURAL
INDUSTRY; AND

(VI)  1 WHO SHALL REPRESENT SEAFOOD CONSUMERS;

(VII)  1 WHO SHALL REPRESENT THE SCIENTIFIC
COMMUNITY;

(VIII)  1 MEMBER OF THE TIDAL FISHERIES ADVISORY
COMMISSION; AND

(IX)  1 MEMBER OF THE BOAT ACT ADVISORY
COMMISSION.

(C)  THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE SHALL FORMULATE AND MAKE
PROPOSALS FOR ADVANCING MARYLAND AQUACULTURE AND ADVISE THE

AQUACULTURE POLICY COMMITTEE ON ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO

AQUACULTURE , INCLUDING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A FEE STRUCTURE ON
AQUACULTURE OPERATIONS IN ORDER TO REDUCE STATE EXPENDITURES ON
AQUACULTURE PROGRAMS.

(D)  (1) THE TERM OF A MEMBER APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR IS 3
YEARS.

(2)  THE TERMS OF THE MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE
GOVERNOR SERVING ON JULY 1, 1988 EXPIRE AS FOLLOWS:

(I)  3 4 MEMBERS IN 1989;

(II)  3 4 MEMBERS IN 1990; AND

(III)  3 4 MEMBERS IN 1991.

(3)  AT THE END OF A TERM, A MEMBER CONTINUES TO SERVE
UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.

(4)  A MEMBER WHO IS APPOINTED AFTER A TERM BEGINS
SERVES ONLY FOR THE REST OF THE TERM AND UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS
APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.

(5)  AN APPOINTED MEMBER MAY NOT SERVE MORE THAN 2
CONSECUTIVE TERMS.

(E)  THE GOVERNOR MAY REMOVE A MEMBER FOR INCOMPETENCE OR
MISCONDUCT.

(F)  THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MAY ELECT FROM AMONG ITS
APPOINTED MEMBERS A CHAIRMAN, VICE-CHAIRMAN, SECRETARY AND OTHER
OFFICERS IT DEEMS APPROPRIATE.
