WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 360

(a) [A] EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS
SECTION, A cause of action at law, whether real, personal, or
mixed, [except slander,] survives the death of either party.

(B) A CAUSE OF ACTION FOR SLANDER ABATES UPON THE DEATH OF
EITHER PARTY UNLESS AN APPEAL HAS BEEN TAKEN FROM A JUDGMENT
ENTERED IN FAVOR OF THE PLAINTIFF.

[(b)](C) A right of action in equity survives the death of
either party if the court can grant effective relief in spite of
the death.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.

AN ACT concerning

Small Business Surety Bond Program Loans
of 1986 and 1987

FOR the purpose of repealing the provisions of Chapter 467 of the
Acts of 1986 which authorize the creation of a State Debt
for the Small Business Surety Bond Program Loan of 1986; and
repealing the provisions of Chapter 465 of the Acts of 1987
which authorize the creation of a State Debt for the Small
Business Surety Bond Guaranty Program Loan of 1987.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
