AN ACT concerning
Baltimore City - Bingo
FOR the purpose of clarifying that, in Baltimore City, with
respect to prizes that can be awarded at a bingo game
conducted by certain organizations, a certain limit on the
total amount of prizes applies to a combination of specified
games; providing that the Police Commissioner of Baltimore
City may issue permits for the conduct and operation of
bingo in Baltimore City for certain periods; altering the
fees that may be charged for certain permits; and generally
relating to the conduct and operation of bingo in Baltimore
City.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY. OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments
260.
(b) Except as provided in subsection (c)(2) of this
section, nothing in this subtitle shall be construed to make it
unlawful for any bona fide fraternal, religious, patriotic,
educational or charitable organization or any bona fide
fraternal, religious, patriotic, educational or charitable
corporation to operate or conduct a game of bingo in Baltimore
City where no cash or prize of a greater value than $45 is
offered or given in any one game and where the entire proceeds,
excluding costs incurred for personnel, supplies, equipment, and
other expenses incidental thereto, are devoted to charitable
purposes exclusively or in furtherance of the purposes of such
organization or corporation.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, any organization or
corporation devoted exclusively to charitable, religious or
educational purposes or any service, fraternal or veterans
organizations whose net earnings do not inure to the benefit of
any stockholder or member of the association conducting the same
may conduct or operate a game of bingo in Baltimore City if the
