AN ACT concerning

Health Insurance - Coverage for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse

FOR the purpose of requiring group health contracts issued on an
expense incurred basis to provide certain coverage for the
treatment of drug abuse; modifying the duration of coverage
for adolescents and minimum amount of coverage required by
group health contracts for the treatment of alcoholism and
alcohol abuse; modifying the number of alcohol outpatient
visits required to be provided in a group health contract;
repealing the requirement that nonprofit health service
plans offer coverage for the treatment of drug abuse;
modifying the type of facility that qualifies for coverage
under this Act; providing for the applicability of this Act;
defining a term; modifying the amount of coverage required
by group health contracts for the treatment of alcoholism
and alcohol abuse; and generally relating to health
insurance coverage for alcoholism, alcohol abuse, and drug
abuse.
