PROVISION OF THIS SUBTITLE, AS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND ON
CONVICTION IS SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING $50,000 OR
IMPRISONMENT IN THE PENITENTIARY NOT EXCEEDING 5 YEARS, OR BOTH.

THE DEPARTMENT SHALL PROMULGATE SUCH RULES AS ARE NECESSARY
TO CARRY OUT THE PURPOSES OF THIS SUBTITLE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.

AN ACT concerning

Maryland State Police - Natural Resources Police -
Rank Consolidation, and Overtime

FOR the purpose of defining obsolete rank and, commissioned rank
within the Maryland State Police; permitting promotional
candidates to bypass an obsolete rank; providing for the
handling of incumbent employees in obsolete ranks and
repealing obsolete language; eliminating the payment of
overtime compensation to employees of the Maryland State
Police and the Natural Resources Police who hold a

commissioned certain rank; requiring that the police

employees' salary plan be subject to certain approval and

annual salary review; providing for the award of

compensatory time for certain commissioned police officers
under certain circumstances; providing that a portion of
this Act is contingent upon certain occurrences; and
generally relating to rank consolidation, compensation, and
the Maryland State Police, and the Natural Resources Police.
