undergraduate studies for 1 year for each year that the
scholarship was awarded; and
2. Repay the State the additional amounts
awarded under this subsection and simple interest equal to the
prime rate of interest plus 2 percent if the recipient does not:
A. Complete the teacher education
program; and
B. Teach in a public school in the State
for a period of 1 year for each year in which the additional
amount was awarded.
(2) In consultation with the State Department of
Education, the State Scholarship [Board] ADMINISTRATION
COMMISSION ADMINISTRATION shall adopt rules and regulations to
waive, for good cause, the repayment of any portion of the
additional scholarship awarded under this subsection that is not
forgiven if the recipient fails to fulfill the obligations agreed
to under [subparagraph (ii)] PARAGRAPH (1)(II) of this
subsection.
18-1103.
The [Board] ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION ADMINISTRATION shall
annually select a number of alternate scholarship awards under
this subtitle. In the event the annual number of awards is not
made, as provided in Section 18-1101, the [Board] ADMINISTRATION
COMMISSION ADMINISTRATION may make an award from the alternate
list as necessary to assure that 300 awards are made annually.
Subtitle 12. [Postsecondary Proprietary] PRIVATE CAREER SCHOOL
Student Grant Program
18-1201.
There is a program of [postsecondary proprietary] PRIVATE
CAREER SCHOOL student grants in this State, known as the Jack F.
Tolbert Memorial Student Grant Program, that are awarded under
this subtitle.
18-1202.
The State Scholarship [Board] ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION
ADMINISTRATION shall administer the program of postsecondary
proprietary PRIVATE CAREER SCHOOL student financial aid grants.
18-1203.
(a) The State Scholarship [Board] ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION
ADMINISTRATION may not require any competitive examination in
determining student eligibility.
