(i) Receive more than $2,000 a year; and

(ii) Be awarded more than two 1-year
scholarships or the part-time equivalent.

(2)  An applicant for a graduate nursing student
scholarship, as provided in this section, must meet the
requirements for acceptance in a postbaccalaureate degree program
in nursing.

(3)  Each scholarship may be used only for tuition and
mandatory fees.

(4)  In case of demonstrated need, the State
Scholarship Board may award additional amounts to cover:

(i) Room and board; and

(ii) Books and supplies.

(5)  The scholarship shall be paid to the institution
on vouchers approved by the State Scholarship Board.

(e)  Each recipient of a scholarship under this section may
hold the scholarship until completion of the graduate nursing
education program if the recipient:

(1)  Continues to be a resident of this State; and

(2)  In the judgment of the institution, is making
satisfactory progress toward completion of the program.

(f)  Each year the State Scholarship Board shall:

(1)  Announce the availability and conditions of
scholarships under this section at all appropriate places;

(2)  Give preference to applicants who demonstrate
financial need;

(3)  Distribute scholarships available under this
section to qualified applicants meeting the requirements of this
section;

(4)  Subject to § 2-1312 of the State Government
Article, report to the General Assembly on or before November 1
the number of applicants and the number of scholarship
recipients.

(g)  If the recipient does not complete the nursing
education program or fulfill the requirements of subsection
(c)(3) of this section the recipient shall:
