LAWS OF MARYLAND

(1)  MEETS THE AVIATION GASOLINE STANDARDS OF
SPECIFICATION D-910 OF THE AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR TESTING AND
MATERIALS, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME; AND

(2)  IS USED TO PROPEL GASOLINE POWERED AIRCRAFT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language that
repeats the provisions of present Art. 56, § 135(1).

In the introductory language of this subsection, the
word "gasoline" is substituted for the broader word
"fuel", for clarity. Similarly, in item (2) of this
subsection, the words "gasoline powered" are added.

In item (1) of this subsection, the phrase "as amended
from time to time" is added to clarify that the item
refers to the most current aviation gasoline standard.
This addition conforms to practice.

Defined term: "Gasoline" § 9-101

(D) GASOLINE.

(1) "GASOLINE" MEANS A PRODUCT THAT:

(I)  IS USED AS FUEL IN A SPARK IGNITED,
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE; OR

(II)  IS DESIGNATED AS GASOLINE BY THE
COMPTROLLER.

(2) "GASOLINE" INCLUDES:

(I)  CASINGHEAD GASOLINE;

(II)  ABSORPTION GASOLINE;

(III)  OTHER NATURAL GASOLINE; AND

(IV)  AVIATION GASOLINE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Paragraph (1) of this subsection is new
language that repeats the provisions of present Art.
56, § 135(q)(2), and, except for the exclusion of
aviation gasoline and the reference to "casing head
absorption and natural gasoline", (1).

Paragraph (2)(i) through (iii) of this subsection is
new language substituted for the reference, in present
Art. 56, § 135(q)(l), to "casing head absorption and
natural gasoline". The forms of natural gasoline
include "casinghead gasoline" and "absorption
gasoline", as opposed to absorption oil, which is used
to extract the gasoline.
