SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes

413.

(a) Every motor carrier shall pay a road tax calculated on
the amount of motor fuel consumed in its operations on highways
within this State. The ROAD tax shall be [at the same rate as] 4
CENTS HIGHER THAN the MOTOR VEHICLE FUEL tax rate in effect at
