LAWS OF MARYLAND

of 12 consecutive months, AND THE STATE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
SHALL SUCCEED THE DIRECTOR OF THE JUVENILE SERVICES AGENCY FOR A
TERM OF 12 CONSECUTIVE MONTHS.

(3) After the initial [3] 4-year cycle of rotation of
the office of chairman, each voting member shall serve as
chairman for a 12-month term in the order set forth in paragraph
[2] (2) of this subsection.

(c) Staff support for the Council shall be provided by the
Office for Handicapped Individuals within the Executive Branch of
the government.

9-1505.

Each local coordinating council shall include at least 1
representative from:

(1)  the Mental Hygiene Administration;

(2)  the Juvenile Services Agency;

(3)  the [Mental Retardation and] Developmental
Disabilities Administration;

(4)  the local board of education;

(5)  the local health department; and

(6)  the LOCAL Department of Social Services.
9-1507.

(a)  The Council and the local coordinating councils shall
develop and implement plans of care for the residential placement
of handicapped children in the State.

(b)  A local coordinating council shall:

(1)  accept placement referrals from the agencies
represented on the local coordinating council;

(2)  decide what type of placement is needed by the
handicapped child who is referred for placement;

(3)  provide an interagency plan of care for
handicapped children who need [restrictive] residential
placements;

(4)  submit recommended plans of care to the Council;
and
