Ch. 63

LAWS OF MARYLAND

which and who are determined to have the most constructive
influence on youth. To be eligible, a station must be located in
Maryland or serve the Maryland area from the District of
Columbia. A program to be eligible must have been produced in
Maryland or directed to the Maryland audience. Awards shall be
given in the following categories:

(1)  The most influential program having a
constructive effect on youth;

(2)  The most influential series having a constructive
effect on youth;

(3)  The station which places the greatest emphasis on
constructive programming for youth;

(4)  The station which shows the least amount of
violence;

(5)  The station which most encourages responsible
parenthood.

(b) The categories listed in subsection (a) shall be
awarded in each of the following areas:

(1)  Programs designed for children up to 12 years of
age;

(2)  Programs designed for children 12 to 18 years of
age.]

The Governor shall present the awards annually at a public
ceremony.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.
