Ch. 49
LAWS OF MARYLAND
Subtitles 1, 2, and 3, §§ 8-127, 8-128, and 8-129, Part V of
Title 8, Subtitle 1, and [Titles 10 and 11] TITLE 10, AND
DIVISION II of the State Finance and Procurement Article, and may
carry out its corporate purposes without obtaining the consent of
any department, board, or agency of the State.
REVISOR'S NOTE: Chapter ___, Acts of 1988, which enacted
the State Finance and Procurement Article, also
amended this section to make a technical correction.
Chapter 498, Acts of 1984, which created the Maryland
Economic Development Corporation, exempted that
Corporation from a number of provisions including
Articles 21 and 78A of the Code.
Chapter 717, Acts of 1985, amended this section to
reflect the transfer of many provisions from Article
78A to the State Finance and Procurement Article,
including Title 10 and Title 21. Title 21 was
designated Division III.
In 1987, two unrelated bills amended this section.
Chapter 11, Acts of 1987, substituted a reference to
Division II of the State Finance and Procurement
Article for the obsolete reference to Article 21 of
the Code. That same Act substituted a reference to
Division III of the State Finance and Procurement
Article for the reference to Title 21 of that article.
At the same time, Chapter 311, Acts of 1987,
substituted a reference to Title 11 of the State
Finance and Procurement Article for the reference to
Title 21 of the same article. However, Chapter 311
did not delete the obsolete reference to Article 21 of
the Code nor did the bill title purport to narrow the
exemptions for the Maryland Economic Development
Corporation.
In giving effect to both Chapters 11 and 311, the
publisher of the Annotated Code deleted the references
to Title 21 of the Code and to Divisions II and III of
the State Finance and Procurement Article. The
present amendment corrects what seems to be an
inadvertent error.
