prohibition against "performing any work on the same
as a contractor or subcontractor" is deleted as
included in the words "prohibited from entering into a
contract ... directly or indirectly".

GENERAL REVISOR'S NOTE TO SUBTITLE:

Former SF § 12-314, which provided for the severability of
the provisions of this subtitle, is deleted as unnecessary in
light of Art. 1, § 23 of the Code.

SUBTITLE 3. STEEL PROCUREMENT FOR PUBLIC WORKS.

17-301. DEFINITIONS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly appeared as SF §
12-401(a).

The only changes are in style.

(B)  AMERICAN STEEL PRODUCT.

"AMERICAN STEEL PRODUCT" MEANS A PRODUCT THAT IS:

(1)  PRODUCED FROM STEEL MADE IN ANY STATE BY THE OPEN
HEARTH, BASIC OXYGEN, ELECTRIC FURNACE, BESSEMER, OR OTHER STEEL
MAKING PROCESS; AND

(2)  ROLLED, FORGED, DRAWN, CAST, EXTRUDED, OR
OTHERWISE SIMILARLY PROCESSED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from former SF § 12-401(d)
and (e). It is revised to incorporate the terms
"United States" and "steel products", which were set
out in the former law as separate defined terms.

The term "American steel product" is substituted, as
the defined term, for the former term "steel
