(a)  (1) The Commission consists of 9 members appointed by
the Charles County Commissioners.

(2) Of the 9 [board] members:

(i) 1 shall be designated by the Black History
Group;

(ii) 1 shall be designated by the Historical
Society of Charles County;

(iii) 1 shall be designated by the Piscataway
Indian Tribe;

(iv) 1 shall be designated by the Society for
the Restoration for Port Tobacco;

(v) 1 shall be designated by the Committee for
the Restoration of the Dr. Samuel A. Mudd House; Inc.;

(vi) 1 shall be designated by the President of
the Charles County Community College or an appointed
representative; and

(vii) 3 shall be members appointed at large by
the county commissioners.

(b)  (1) The term of a member of the Commission is [3] 4
years;

[(2) The term of members are staggered as required by
the terms provided for members of the Commission on July 1,
1982; ]

[(3)] (2) At the end of a term, a member continues to
serve until a successor is appointed;

[(4)] (3) A member who is appointed after a term has
begun serves only for the rest of the term and until a successor
is appointed.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the terms of
members are staggered as required by the terms provided for
members of the Commission on July 1, 1988.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.
