WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor                      Ch. 28

The Board of Commissioners shall receive from an applicant
for a certificate of competency whom they examine and pass, the
sum of [$30] $75 at the time of the issuance of the certificate,
and the sum of [$50] $75 for the biennial renewal on or before
the first day of May. Any applicant for a certificate who fails
to pass an examination given by the Board is entitled to notice
from the Board of his right to have his papers regraded and, on
demand, to have the same regraded and to have made available to
him the questions given on the examination and his answers
thereto.

(b) The Board may demand and receive from each journeyman
plumber the sum of [$15] $30 at the time of issuing of the first
certificate to a journeyman plumber, and the sum of [$20] $30 for
the biennial renewal thereof on or before the first day of May.
There shall be a charge of [$5] $15 for the issuing of the first
permit and [$10] $15 for biennial renewals of permits to
apprentices. The Commissioners may fix the requirements of the
competency and qualification of applicants, whether of master
plumbers or of journeyman plumbers, as different standards, in
their judgment, for different parts of the State, and may
accordingly limit the certificates so as to permit the holder
thereof to do plumbing work only in certain specified sections of
the State, as the Commissioners may determine.

The operator's examination fee shall be $5, and all other
examination fees shall be $10. The registration fees for the
issuance of licenses, with or without examination, shall be as
follows:

(a)   [Twenty dollars ($20.00)] $50 for beauty shop owners,
managers and teachers, biennial renewal fee of [$40] $50.

(b)   [Five dollars ($5.00)] $25 and biennial renewal fee of
[$10] $25 for operators, manicurists, cosmeticians, wig stylists,
and demonstrators.

(c)   [Two dollars ($2.00)] $5 for apprentices, annual
renewal fee of [two dollars ($2.00)] $5.

(d)   [One hundred dollars ($100.00)] $100 for schools of
beauty culture. Public and parochial schools, however, are
hereby declared to be exempted from the payment of any license
fees, but are subject to the other provisions of this subtitle.
Biennial renewal fees shall be $100.

(e)   [Five dollars ($5.00)] $10 for cosmetologist-aide,
biennial renewal fee of $10.
