(1985 Replacement Volume and 1986 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

16-505.

(a) The Board of Community College Trustees for Charles
County consists of seven members appointed by the Governor, with
the advice and consent of the Senate. Of the members:

(1)  Each shall be a resident of Charles County; and

(2)  At least five shall have completed 60 semester
hours of accredited college work.

(B) (1) THE TERM OF A MEMBER IS JULY 1, 1987 5 YEARS.

(2) A MEMBER MAY NOT SERVE FOR MORE THAN 2
CONSECUTIVE TERMS.

[(b)] (C) A member of the Charles County Board of Education
may not serve concurrently on the Board of Community College
Trustees.

[(c)] (D) Each member of the Board is entitled to $600 a
year for expenses.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That as the terms of
the members in office on July 1, 1987 December 1, 1987 expire,
persons appointed to the new terms thereafter are subject to the
provisions of this Act.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That members in
office on July 1, 1987 December 1, 1987 who have served two or
more consecutive terms may not be appointed for an additional
consecutive term.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987 December 1, 1987.
