AN ACT concerning

Maryland Stadium Authority Approval of Facility Site

at Camden Yards

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Maryland Stadium Authority to
    acquire a facility site at Camden Yards and to construct or
enter into a contract to construct a facility; repealing
certain notice and hearing requirements; altering certain
approval requirements; and generally relating to General
Assembly approval of a facility site.

Preamble

WHEREAS, In Chapter 283 of the Laws of 1986, the General
Assembly enacted a Maryland Stadium Authority Act to, among other
things, provide for selection of a site for a new sports facility
for the Baltimore Metropolitan Area;

WHEREAS, The Maryland Stadium Authority has given the
requisite notice for selecting such a site at Camden Yards in
Baltimore City;

WHEREAS, State law provides that the Maryland Stadium
Authority shall receive the prior approval of the General
Assembly for acquisition of the site; and

WHEREAS, The purpose of this statute is to give the
approval of the General Assembly for the acquisition and
construction of a facility site at Camden Yards; now, therefore,

  SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
