(8)  Appointed, or given the powers of, a special
policeman employed and compensated by the State for the
enforcement of law and the maintenance of order on property of
the State or of any of its agencies, or for the protection of
such property; a member of the Department of General Services
security force; [or]

(9)  The sheriff of any county or of Baltimore City
and whose usual duties include the making of arrests; [or]

(10)  A regularly employed deputy sheriff of any
county and who is compensated by the county and whose usual
duties include the making of arrests; [or]

(11)  A member of the Natural Resources police of the
Department of Natural Resources; or

(12)  A member of the Maryland Alcohol and Tobacco Tax
Enforcement Unit.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This deletes extraneous conjunctions in
Article 27, § 594B(g).

The extraneous disjunctive conjunctions, "or" in Ch.
561 of the Acts of 1969, Ch. 665 of the Acts of 1974,.
Ch. 301 of the Acts of 1975, and Ch. 889 of the Acts
of 1976.

The disjunctive conjunction "or", shown after §
594B(g)(10) as codified was a publishing error, which
occurred in the printing of the 1986 Supplement to the
1982 Edition of Volume 3A of the Annotated Code.

The stylistic errors were noted by the professional
staff of the Legislative Division of the Department of
Legislative Reference.

(h) From the time that a party state receives custody of a
prisoner pursuant to this agreement until such prisoner is
returned to the territory and custody of the sending state, the
state in which the one or more untried indictments, informations
or complaints are pending or in which trial is being had shall be
responsible for the prisoner and shall also pay all costs of
transporting, caring for, keeping and returning the prisoner.
The provisions of this [paragraph] SUBSECTION shall govern unless
the states concerned shall have entered into a supplementary
agreement providing for a different allocation of costs and
responsibilities as between or among themselves. Nothing herein
contained shall be construed to alter or affect any internal
relationship among the departments, agencies and officers of and
in the government of a party state, or between a party state and
