any other source shall be charged to the applicant; however, the
charges assessed against the applicant may not exceed the fee
charged by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to the Maryland
State Police for a fingerprint card record check.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.

State Board of Cosmetologists - Compensation of Board Members

FOR the purpose of altering the per diem amount of compensation
received by members of the State Board of Cosmetologists.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

492.

Each member of said Board shall receive [$40] $50 for each
day employed in the actual discharge of his or her official
duties and his or her necessary expenses so incurred. There shall
at all times be available for consultation at least one member of
the Board. The compensation and expenses of the members and
officers of said Board, and all expenses, including office help
and professional advice, and services which, in the opinion of
said Board, are proper and necessary to discharge its duties and
to enforce the law, shall be paid upon the approval of the
chairman of said Board. The salaries shall be paid by the Board
at the rate per diem of actual service herein provided and
traveling expenses, in accordance with the Standard Travel
Regulations, shall be allowed to members of the Board for
