AN ACT concerning
Queen Anne's County - Payments to Volunteer
Fire Companies
FOR the purpose of altering the annual payments to certain
volunteer fire companies; altering the additional annual
payments made to each volunteer fire company that operates
an ambulance service approved by the Queen Anne's County
Fire and Ambulance Commission; making certain stylistic
changes; and generally relating to volunteer fire companies
in Queen Anne's County.

Article 18 - Public Local Laws of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 18 - Queen Anne's County
1-601.
The County Commissioners [of Queen Anne's County are
authorized and directed to] MAY SHALL pay annually on or before
[the 1st day of] October 1 of each year, [the sum of $17,500] AT
LEAST $20,000 to each of the following named volunteer fire
companies: Goodwill Fire Company, Incorporated; The Sudlersville
Fire Company, Incorporated; Church Hill Fire Company,
Incorporated; The Queenstown Volunteer Fire Company; Kent Island
Volunteer Fire Department, [Inc.,] INCORPORATED, Grasonville
Volunteer Fire Company, [Inc.,] INCORPORATED, The Crumpton
Volunteer Fire Company, Incorporated, and the United Communities
Volunteer Fire Department, Incorporated, and [the sum of $5,850]
AT LEAST $6,666 to Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company,
Incorporated, for the purchase, improvement, maintenance and
operation of fire apparatus and fire equipment for the [said]
volunteer fire companies. Each volunteer fire company in Queen
Anne's County which operates an ambulance service approved by the
Queen Anne's County [fire and ambulance commission] FIRE AND
AMBULANCE COMMISSION [shall] MAY receive an additional annual
payment of [$4,500.] AT LEAST $6,000. HOWEVER, IF THAT AMBULANCE
SERVICE OPERATES MORE THAN ONE AMBULANCE IT MAY SHALL RECEIVE AN
ADDITIONAL PAYMENT OF AT LEAST $1,000. However, if the Queen
