AN AMENDMENT to the Montgomery County Zoning Ordinance for
the purpose of

Revising the purpose clause of the Sign
Regulations to establish the policy basis for
regulating commercial signs advertising products
or businesses. Deleting sections concerned with
sign content restrictions in commercial and
industrial zones. Deleting provisions for
Civic, Religious, and Quasi-Public Signs.
Providing standards for noncommercial signs
which are proposed to be permitted in all zones.
Deleting provisions for nonconforming signs and
adding a section concerned with illegal signs.
Deleting the Division concerned with outdoor
advertising structures, billboards, and poster
panels. Amending the Definitions section of the
Zoning Ordinance to delete the definition of and
references to billboards.

By amending the following sections of the Montgomery
County Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 59 of the Montgomery
County Code:

Section 59-F-l.1 "Purpose and Scope of Division"

Section 59-F-l.36 "Civic, Religious, and Quasi-Public

Signs"
Section 59-F-l.4 "Exemptions"
Section 59-F-l.5 "Nonconforming Signs"
Section 59-F-l.6 "Prohibited or Restricted Signs"
Division 59-F-2                     "Outdoor Advertising Structures,

Billboards and Poster Panels"
Division 59-F-3                     "Sign Review Board"
