AMENDMENTS TO EXECUTIVE ORDER 01.01.1985.19
GOVERNOR'S YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL

WHEREAS, Executive Order 01.01.1985.19 established the Governor's
Youth Advisory Council, and provides for its membership,
terms of service and election of officers; and

WHEREAS, It is necessary to change the date for electing officers
of the Council to allow sufficient time to plan council
activities; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, HARRY HUGHES, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, BY VIRTUE OF THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME BY THE
CONSTITUTION AND LAWS OF MARYLAND, HEREBY AMEND SECTION 2(D)
OF EXECUTIVE ORDER 01.01.1985.19 AS FOLLOWS:

2. (d) Elections for Council officers shall be held [after
August 1 and prior to November 1] IN THE SPRING of each
year AND THE COUNCIL'S AGENDA AND PLATFORM SHALL BE
DEVELOPED IN THE FALL OF EACH YEAR.

CODE OF FAIR PRACTICES AMENDMENTS

WHEREAS, In recognition of the State's obligation to provide a
work environment without discrimination on the basis of (1)
political or religious opinion or affiliation, marital
status, race, color, creed, or national origin, or (2) sex
or age, except when sex or age constitutes a bona fide
occupational qualification, or (3) the physical or mental
handicap of a qualified handicapped individual, a Code of
Fair Practices was promulgated on December 9, 1970, by
Executive Order 01.01.1970.15; and amended by Executive
Orders 01.01.1976.05, 01.01.1986.04, and 01.01.1986.06; and

WHEREAS, A mechanism is desirable to address filing of complaints
by employees of the Human Relations Commission;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, HARRY HUGHES, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, BY VIRTUE OF THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME BY THE
CONSTITUTION AND LAWS OF MARYLAND, HEREBY ORDER AND DIRECT
THAT ARTICLE VIII OF EXECUTIVE ORDER 01.01.1986.04 BE
AMENDED, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, AS FOLLOWS:
