WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 365.

This bill alters the method of calculating the supplemental
survivor's death benefits in the State Police Retirement System
so as to conform the calculation with the federal Social
Security Act calculations.

Senate Bill 89, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on April 29, 1987, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 365.

Sincerely,

William Donald Schaefer

Governor
