Ch. 11 LAWS OF MARYLAND
(A) At its own expense, a county governing body may provide
transportation for public school students in addition to the
transportation provided by the State.
(B) (1) EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS SUBSECTION AND
SUBJECT TO FEDERAL LAW, IN ALLEGANY COUNTY, SCHOOL BUSES MAY NOT
BE USED TO TRANSPORT STUDENTS TO OR FROM SCHOOL FOR LONGER THAN 1
HOUR OR OVER A DISTANCE OF MORE THAN 45 MILES, WHICHEVER TAKES A
SHORTER PERIOD OF TIME.
(2) IN ALLEGANY COUNTY, SCHOOL BUSES MAY BE USED TO
TRANSPORT STUDENTS TO OR FROM SCHOOL FOR LONGER THAN 1 HOUR OR
OVER A DISTANCE OF MORE THAN 45 MILES IF THE STUDENT PARTICIPATES
IN:
(I) VOCATIONAL-TECHNICAL PROGRAMS;
(II) EDUCATION OF HANDICAPPED CHILDREN PROGRAMS
(20 USC §§ 1401 THROUGH 1461); OR
(III) EDUCATION OF THE BLIND AND DEAF PROGRAMS.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.

AN ACT concerning
Annual Corrective Bill
FOR the purpose of correcting certain errors and omissions in
certain articles of the Annotated Code; ratifying certain
changes made by the publishers of the Annotated Code in the
numbering of a certain article of the Annotated Code and
cross-references to that article; providing that this Act .is
not intended to affect any law other than .. to correct
technical errors; directing the publishers of the Annotated.
Code to transfer certain provisions of the Annotated Code to
accomplish the purposes of any executive order issued to
reorganize the Executive Branch of State Government;
providing for the effect of certain provisions of this Act;
and making this Act an emergency measure.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
