(House Bill 402)

AN ACT concerning

Chiropractors - Licenses - Education Requirements

FOR the purpose of altering the education requirements for
obtaining a license to practice chiropractic; and providing
that a certain educational requirement does not apply to
certain individuals until a certain date.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Health Occupations

Section 3-302(c) and (d)

Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Health Occupations

3-302.

(c) Except as otherwise provided in this title, the
applicant shall:

[(1) Have completed satisfactorily:

(i) 2 academic years at a college or university
approved by the State Board for Higher Education or by a
comparable authority in another state; and

courses:

(ii) At least two of the following college

1.  Biology;

2.  Chemistry; or

3.  Physics; and]

(1) PRIOR TO MATRICULATION TO AN APPROVED SCHOOL OF
CHIROPRACTIC:

(I) HOLD A BACHELOR'S DEGREE FROM A COLLEGE OR
UNIVERSITY APPROVED BY AN ACCREDITING AGENCY OF THE UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION; AND
