SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.

AN ACT concerning

Restrictions on Hunting Wildlife —Firearms HANDGUNS in Vehicles

FOR the purpose of prohibiting a person from possessing certain
loaded—firearms handguns in a vehicle; defining a certain
term; and clarifying language under certain circumstances.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(c) (1) IN THIS SUBSECTION "FIREARM" MEANS A PISTOL,

REVOLVER, HANDGUN, RIFLE, SHOTGUN, SHORT BARRELED RIFLE,

SHORT BARRELED SHOTGUN, OR ANY OTHER WEAPON WHICH DISCHARGES A
SHOT BY GUNPOWDER.

(2) A person may not shoot at any [specie] SPECIES of
wildlife from an automobile or other vehicle or , EXCEPT AS
PROVIDED IN ARTICLE 27, § 36B(C) AND § 36E OF THE CODE, possess
in or on an automobile or other vehicle, a loaded HANDGUN,
[shotgun, or rifle] FIREARM containing any ammunition in the
magazine or chamber. If this subsection is violated by an
occupant of a vehicle which has two or more occupants and it
cannot be determined which occupant is the violator, the owner of
the vehicle, if present, shall be presumed to be responsible for
