WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor                   Ch. 644

(4) IF THE SPEAKER IS UNABLE TO ATTEND A MEETING, THE
SPEAKER MAY DESIGNATE A DELEGATE OR AN EMPLOYEE OF THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY TO REPRESENT THE SPEAKER AT THE MEETING.

(5) IF THE GOVERNOR IS UNABLE TO ATTEND A MEETING,
THE GOVERNOR MAY DESIGNATE ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL TO REPRESENT THE
GOVERNOR AT THE MEETTNG.

(c) A member of the Veterans' Home Commission:

(1) may not receive compensation, but

(2) is entitled to reimbursement for expenses under
the Standard State Travel Regulations, as provided in the State
budget.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.

CHAPTER 644

(Senate Bill 911)

AN ACT concerning

Child Abuse Investigations - Local Health Officer

FOR the purpose of authorizing the local health officer to
participate in the joint investigation of alleged child
abuse; requiring the local health officer to enter into a
certain written agreement for the joint investigation of

alleged child abuse and alleged child sexual abuse;

requiring a local health officer to participate in certain
investigations of alleged child abuse involving a group day
care center or family day care home including the local
health officer among certain agencies required to enter into
a written agreement specifying standard operating procedures
for the investigation and prosecution of reported cases of
child abuse; repealing certain obsolete deadlines for

entering into agreements and implementing certain

procedures; requiring written agreements to be entered into
on or before a certain date; and generally relating to child
abuse investigations by local health officers.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
