19-1002.

(a)  A person, other than a health maintenance organization
as defined in § 19-701 of this article, may not lease, operate,
acquire or receive any major medical equipment unless the
equipment is licensed by the Secretary.

(b)  While it is effective, a license or a provisional
license authorizes the use of major medical equipment as
specified in the license or the provisional license.

(c)  A license or a provisional license issued under this
subtitle is not transferable.

(d)  (1) A provisional license expires and is no longer
valid when regulations governing the equipment provisionally
licensed become effective.

(2) A holder of a provisional license that expires,
must apply for a license in accordance with this subtitle.

The provisions of this subtitle shall terminate on June 1,
[1987] 1990 1989 and shall be null and void without the necessity
of further action by the General Assembly.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1987.

AN ACT concerning

University of Maryland Employees - Compensatory Time Off

FOR the purpose of providing certain University of Maryland
employees with the option of taking compensatory time off
under terms of specific agreements in lieu of receiving
overtime compensation in accordance with the Federal Fair
Labor Standards Amendments of 1985; and providing that the
University of Maryland's policy regarding compensatory time
off as provided by this Act shall be in accordance with
certain regulations regarding compensatory time off adopted
by the Department of Personnel, where appropriate.
