SECTION 7 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, that the
provisions of Section 5 4 of this Act shall apply to all
claims filed on or after July 1, 1987.
SECTION 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Workers'
Compensation Benefit and Insurance Oversight Committee
established by HB 238 (Chapter of the Acts of 1987), as part
of its examination of the workers' compensation benefits and
workers' compensation insurance in the State of Maryland shall
review, with respect to adequacy and appropriateness, all
benefits specified in Article 101 § 36(3)(c) and make
recommendations for necessary changes prior to the 1989
Legislative Session.
SECTION 8. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the changes made
to §§ 36(3)(c)(i) and 36(3)(a)(i)2 of this Article take effect
January 1, 1988 and shall remain in effect for a period of 2
years and, at the end of January 1, 1990, with no further action
required by the General Assembly, these changes shall be
abrogated and of no further force and effect.
SECTION 7 9. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That if any
provision of this Act or the application thereof to any person or
circumstance is held invalid for any reason, the invalidity shall
not affect the other provisions or any other application of this
Act which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or
application, and to this end all the provisions of this Act are
declared to be severable.
SECTION 8 10. AND. BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect on July 1, 1987, contingent on the taking
effect of Chapter ___ of the Acts of 1987 (H.B. ___/S.B.
____)(71r____) (H.B. 238/S.B. 241), and if Chapter ___ does not
become effective, this Act shall be null and void without the
necessity of further action by the General Assembly.
