Ch. 589                                    LAWS OF MARYLAND

(b) Notwithstanding any provision of this section, the
operation of any of the following types of establishments is
allowed on Sunday:

(1)  Drugstores whose principal business is the sale
of drugs, patent medicines, personal hygiene, medical supplies
and related items;

(2)  Any business, of any kind or character, whose
principal business is the sale of food and related items, either
prepared or otherwise;

(3)  Motor vehicle service stations whose principal
business is the sale of motor vehicle fuel, lubricants, and auto
maintenance items;

(4)  Businesses engaged in the sale or rental of real
estate;

(5)  The occupation of poultry and livestock
activities and such other farming and related agricultural
pursuits when such pursuits may be considered an emergency;

(6)  The occupation of operating a nursery,
greenhouse, or florist business, including the sale of

.horticultural products;

(7)  Boat service stations whose principal business is
the sale of boat fuel and boat maintenance items;

(8)  The operation of marinas and boats for hire;

(9)  The operation of hotels, motels, rooming houses,
camping and tenting areas, and similar establishments furnishing
lodging accommodations, together with related services;

(10)  The operation of hospitals, clinics,
infirmaries, nursing homes, the practice of medicine and related
services for the care and treatment of the sick and infirm;

(11)  The operation of public utilities, radio and
television broadcasting facilities and the printing of
newspapers, not including "job printing" except in cases of
emergency;

(12)  The operation of funeral homes and cemeteries,
including the preparation, transportation and interment of the
dead;

(13)  The practice of dentistry and the practice of
law in cases of emergency;
