Ch. 589                                    LAWS OF MARYLAND

[534C.

Nothing contained in §§ 492 and 522 of this article shall be
construed to prohibit or make unlawful the exhibition of motion
pictures between the hours of two (2:00) o'clock p.m. and six
(6:00) p.m. and between the hours of eight-thirty (8:30) p.m. and
twelve (12:00) o'clock midnight on the first day of the week
commonly known as Sunday within the corporate limits of the City
of Cambridge, Dorchester County, Maryland, whether the same be
exhibited with or without a charge or admission fee, provided,
however, that such exhibition shall be subject to all provisions
of law relating to licensing and censorship applicable to motion
pictures on weekdays. The work or employment of any operator,
ticket seller or any other employees or attendants in connection
with such exhibition of, motion pictures shall not be unlawful
because performed on Sundays. Provided, however, that nothing in
this section shall be construed to permit the exhibition of
motion pictures on Sunday between the hours of six (6:00) o'clock
p.m. and eight-thirty (8:30) o'clock p.m. Any exhibition of
motion pictures on Sunday except as hereby authorized shall be
unlawful and subject to the provisions and penalties of §§ 492
and 522 of this article.]

Nothing contained in §§ 492 and 522 of this article shall be
construed to prohibit or make unlawful the operation, within the
boundaries of Dorchester County of any bowling alley, tenpin
alley, duckpin alley or poolroom between the hours of 1:00 p.m.
and 11:30 p.m. on the first day of the week, commonly called
Sunday, with or without a charge or fee; provided, however, that
all bowling alleys, tenpin alleys, or duckpin alleys operated
shall be subject to all provisions of law relating to bowling
alley, tenpin alley, or duckpin alley operations on weekdays.
The work or employment of any operator or any employees or
attendants in connection with any such operation of a bowling
alley, tenpin alley, or duckpin alley shall not be unlawful
because performed on Sundays. Any operation of bowling alleys,
tenpin alleys, or duckpin alleys on Sundays, except as hereby
authorized, shall be unlawful and subject to the provisions and
penalties of said §§ 492 and 522 of this article.]

Nothing IN WICOMICO AND ALLEGANY COUNTIES, NOTHING contained
in §§ 492 or 522 of this article shall be construed to prohibit
or make unlawful the washing of motor vehicles on the first day
of the week, commonly called Sunday. The work or employment of
any operator, owner, filling station attendant, car wash
employee, or any other employees or attendants in connection with
such washing, of motor vehicles shall not be unlawful because
performed on Sundays.]
