AN ACT concerning
Boxing, Sparring, and Wrestling - Neurological Examination
FOR the purpose of directing the State Athletic Commission to
require an individual to be examined by a licensed physician
or surgeon chosen by the State Athletic Commission who
specializes in neurology or neurosurgery under certain
circumstances; authorizing the State Athletic Commission to
refuse to issue or renew a license to participate as a
contestant and to prohibit an individual from participating
as a contestant in a boxing, sparring, or wrestling match
under certain circumstances; requiring the State Athletic
Commission to pay for the cost of a neurological examination
required under this Act; specifying that certain physicians
or surgeons conducting certain examinations are not
employees of the State; making technical changes; and
generally relating to the neurological examination of a
contestant in a boxing, sparring, or wrestling match.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 56 - Licenses
112.
(A) The Commission shall have, and hereby is vested with,
the direction, management, control of and jurisdiction over all
boxing and sparring and wrestling matches and exhibitions to be
conducted, held or given within the State, by any person, club,
corporation or association; and no boxing or sparring or
wrestling match or exhibition shall be conducted, held or given
within the State except pursuant to its authority and in
accordance with the provisions of this subtitle.
(B) [THE] EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (F) OF THIS
SECTION, THE Commission may [issue]:
(1) ISSUE a license to conduct, hold or give boxing
and sparring or wrestling matches and exhibitions to any person,
