LAWS OF MARYLAND

1. The American Speech-LANGUAGE and
Hearing Association; or

the Board.
2-402.

2. Any other organization acceptable to

(b) Unless authorized to practice audiology under this
title, a person may not use[, with the intent to represent that
the person practices audiology, any of the following words or

terms] ANY TERM CONNOTING PROFESSIONAL PROFICIENCY IN

AUDIOLOGY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

(1)   "Audiological";

(2)   "Audiologist";

(3)  "Audiology";

(4)  "Hearing clinic";

(5)   "Hearing clinician";

(6)   "Hearing or aural rehabilitation"; or

(7)   "Hearing specialist".

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.

AN ACT concerning

Speech-Language Pathology

FOR the purpose of changing references to speech pathology or
speech pathologists to speech-language pathology and
speech-language pathologists, respectively; altering the
definition of speech-language pathology; altering the
qualifications for the speech-language pathologist and
audiologist member of the State Board of Examiners for
Speech Pathologists; altering the education requirements for
obtaining a license to practice speech-language pathology;
