AN ACT concerning

Caroline County - Election Board - Salaries

FOR the purpose of altering the annual salaries of the president
and associate members of the Caroline County Board of
Supervisors of Election; clarifying that the County
Commissioners of Caroline County are required to approve a
certain reimbursement; and providing that this Act does not
affect the salaries of incumbent members.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 33 - Election Code

2-3.

(a) Each member of the boards of the several political
subdivisions of the State shall receive an annual salary of not
less than the following amounts:

(6) Caroline County: President [$1,250] $2,000';
associate members [$1,000] $1,800 each; and reimbursement for
expenses as APPROVED AND provided by the County Commissioners.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, § 35, of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may
not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or compensation
of the President and associate members in office on the effective
date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the
salary or compensation of the President and associate members
shall take effect at the beginning of the next following term of
office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1987.
