$1,750,000 $2,000,000 as a matching fund for this project is not
presented to the Board of Public Works on or before June 1, 1989,
no funds under the provisions of this Act shall thereafter be.
paid over to or expended for the purposes set forth in Section
1(3) above, and the remaining proceeds of the loan shall be
applied to the purposes authorized in § 8-129 of the State
Finance and Procurement Article.
(6) The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University
shall grant and convey a perpetual preservation easement on the
facades of the structures, where appropriate, and on the land to
the Maryland Historical Trust in form and substance acceptable to
the Trust.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1987.

AN ACT concerning
Public Ethics Law - Officials and Employees -
Gifts - Exemptions
FOR the purpose of altering an exemption to the Public Ethics Law
prohibition on the receipt of certain gifts by employees and
officials, by specifying that meals and beverages received
by an official or employee must be received in the presence
of the person giving the gift in order to qualify for the
exemption.
