Ch. 11                                    LAWS OF MARYLAND

The antiquated language was noted by the professional
staff of the Legislative Division of the Department of
Legislative Reference.

(d)  If the subscriber or member after due service of a copy
of the order and petition referred to in [(c) above] SUBSECTION
(C) OF THIS SECTION is made upon him:

(1)  Fails to appear at the time and place specified
in the order, judgment shall be entered against him as prayed for
in the petition; or

(2)  Appears in the manner and form required by law in
response to the order, the court shall hear and determine the
matter and enter a judgment in accordance with its decision.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects a stylistic error in an
internal reference in Article 48A, § 164(d).

The stylistic error occurred in Ch. 553 of the Acts of
1963.

The stylistic error was noted by the Michie Company.

164B.

(b) In any civil proceeding filed against a Special Deputy
Commissioner appointed pursuant to this subtitle, the Special
Deputy Commissioner shall be entitled to representation by the
Attorney General in accordance with [§ 12-304 through § 12-312]
§§ 12-304 THROUGH 12-312 of the State Government Article.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects a stylistic error in a
cross-reference in Article. 48A, § 164B(b).

The stylistic error occurred in Ch. 163 of the Acts of
1986.

The stylistic error was noted by the Michie Company.

167.                                                                                                                                                     

(e)  Any person who violates any provision of this section
shall be guilty of A misdemeanor, and upon conviction [thereof]
shall be subject to a fine of not more than [$500.00 or to] $500,
OR imprisonment for not more than 6 months, of both, for each
[such] violation.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects the omission of an article
and punctuation and deletes antiquated language in
Article 48A, § 167(e).
