requirements of the American National Standards Institute
Standard ANSI z-97.1-1971, or as may be amended. The label must
be legible and visible after installation.
(b) Safety glazing labeling shall not be used on other than
safety glazing materials.
(c) Permanent labeling of wire glass, laminated glass or
rigid plastics, that are further fabricated after manufacture, is
not required if the seller or installer of the wire glass,
laminated glass or rigid plastics, furnishes to each buyer
thereof a certificate stating that the wire glass, laminated
glass or rigid plastics, meets the test requirements of ANSI
Standard z-97.1-1971, or as may be amended.

(a) It is unlawful within the State of Maryland knowingly to
sell, install, consent or cause to be installed glazing materials
other than safety glazing materials in, or for use in, any
hazardous location.
(b) No liability under this subheading is created as to
workmen who are employees of a contractor, subcontractor, or
other employer responsible for compliance with this [subheading]
SUBTITLE.
[11-604.] 6-304.
Whoever violates the provisions of this [subheading]
SUBTITLE is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof,
shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000, or to
undergo imprisonment of not more than one year, or both.
[11-605.] 6-305.
This [subheading] SUBTITLE supersedes any local, municipal
or county ordinance or parts thereof relating to the subject
matter hereof, except that requirements and regulations more
stringent than those in effect under this [subheading] SUBTITLE
may be adopted and enforced by the political subdivisions of this
State.
[11-606.] 6-306.
The provisions of this [section] SUBTITLE do not apply to
any person or persons who have executed a legally binding written
contract prior to July 1, 1973, the purpose of which is to sell,
fabricate, assemble, glaze, install, consent to or cause to be
installed glazing materials other than safety glazing materials
in, or for use in, any hazardous location in this State.
