(4)  Encourage formation of local and sectional
development committees and cooperate with local civic groups and
other local, State and federal development agencies[.];

(5)  Disseminate information in the interest of
industrial development in this State, by publication, advertising
and other means[.];

(6)  Collect and assemble information and data
available from other State agencies and departments[.]; AND

(7)  ADMINISTER THOSE PROGRAMS DESIGNATED BY THE
SECRETARY.

[11-204.] 2-104.

So far as may be practicable in performance of its duties in
connection with collection and assembling of information, the
Division shall make use of pertinent data secured from the
boards, commissions, agencies and institutions of this State.
The Division shall have access to all records, data, information
and statistics of such other boards, commissions, agencies and
institutions except records or information required by law to be
confidential and secret.

[11-205.] 2-105.

In the performance of his duties, the Director, subject to
the approval of the Secretary [of Economic and Community
Development], is hereby authorized and empowered to make and
enter into contracts, and to assume such other functions as are
necessary to carry out the provisions, of this subtitle that are
not inconsistent with this or other acts. The Director, subject
to approval of the Secretary [of Economic and Community
Development], may make and enter into contracts with other
boards, commissions, agencies and institutions of this State or
other states, upon such terms as may be mutually agreed upon, to
have such studies and research activities conducted as may be
necessary and proper, and is authorized to pay the cost thereof
out of funds which may be appropriated to the Division.

[11-206.] 2-106.

The Division is empowered to employ such employees as its
business may require within limits of its appropriation, subject
to the provisions of Article 64A of this Code.

[11-207.] 2-107.

(a) There is an Office of International Trade within the
Department [of Economic and Community Development] to promote the
development of international trade activities and opportunities
for the citizens of this State.
