SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 32B - Delmarva Advisory Council
1-111.
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Delmarva
Advisory Council shall receive annual funding by appropriation in
the Maryland State budget. {-Maryland's State allocation shall be
contingent, beginning with fiscal year 1987 1988, and continuing
on a year-to-year basis thereafter, on the commitment of the
participating Maryland counties to contribute an equal share to
the financial support included in the State's budget 1 DOLLAR OF
FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR EACH 4 DOLLARS OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT
DISBURSED FROM THE FUNDS AVAILABLE IN THE STATE'S BUDGET FOR THE
DELMARVA ADVISORY COUNCIL. For purposes of review, approval, and
confirmation that the counties' commitments are met, the] THE
PARTICIPATING MARYLAND COUNTIES MAY CONTRIBUTE ADDITIONAL FUNDS
TO THE COUNCIL. THE Department of Economic and Community
Development is Maryland's "cognizant State agency" and shall
include a budget request for the Delmarva Advisory Council with
its budget request. In addition, receipt of any funds from
Maryland is contingent upon the annual receipt APPROPRIATION of
funds from the states of Delaware or Virginia.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.
