Ch. 297.

LAWS OF MARYLAND

(g) (1) In the rooms of the manufacturing plant that are
used to manufacture or mix syrups or soft drink extracts, the
manufacturer shall have, in each opening to the room, a screen or
self-closing screen door.

(2) The screening shall be made of wire and have at
least 14 meshes per inch.

(h) In each manufacturing plant, the manufacturer shall
protect securely against any soft drink or any substance used in
the preparation of a soft drink being contaminated by:

(1)  Flies;

(2)  Dust;

(3)  Dirt; or

(4)  Any other foreign or injurious contamination.]
[4-331.

Every day, each manufacturer shall remove from the
manufacturer's plant all:

(1)  Refuse;

(2)  Dirt; and

(3)  Waste that may decompose or ferment.]
[4-332.

(a)  This section applies to any container that is used:

(1)  To pack a soft drink;

(2)  To store a soft drink;

(3)  To distribute a soft drink; or

(4)  To sell a soft drink.

(b)  As often as necessary to prevent the solution from
becoming unsanitary, each manufacturer shall change any solution.

(c)  (1) Except as otherwise provided in this subsection,
before putting a soft drink in a container, a manufacturer shall:

(i) Wash the container in water containing a
detergent or a cleansing solution; and
